Guide for the Courageous Observer

A journey of personal observing, beyond the addictive screens, towards meaning.

A young Israeli journalist disconnects from the screens that are running his life and sets out on a journey of personal observing in the public sphere. On this humoristic journey through the streets, he gradually discards his cynicism and is surprised to discover the beautiful, natural and powerful emotions concealed behind the screens of modern life.
It is no secret that the noise coming from the screens surrounding us, has taken over a central part of our lives. We work, shop, sell, embrace, love, are angry and even "moved" through screens. In this manner, our attention is drawn towards continuous notifications, away from the potential good will we have within us.
The possibility of living a truly exciting life is taken from us.Now, whoever attracts our attention the most, receives our heart, or important parts of it.

What does our heart look like without the attractive screen nourishment? What does the world around us look like when we actually observe it? What are we missing out on when we connect to screens? "The Guide for the Courageous Observer" (Status film) is a simple film that is hard to define until you watch it.
The film is made of short stories and statuses, joined together to create a 45 minute video, in five parts, presenting a personal journey of observing with humor and sincerity, offering new perceptions.
"The Guide for the Courageous Observer" is for those that wish to observe life itself, in the deep sense of it and to be moved by it.

About the Film Creator

The film's director is Nadav Gedalya, actor, musician and journalist, known for his unique personal writing and directing style. In the last 15 years, he has produced hundreds of articles and reports on culture, philosophy and media in leading media networks, as well  as books he has written. He has acted on television and has independently produced a range of projects, including the successful film, "Single man with God" (42 minutes), the online series "Giladi will sell you", the film "Pension" (20 minutes), a personal music album, singles and clips.
