The life and art of Hezi Leskly
×´The fragrance of the Yakantalisa is bent, as its stalk is bent / and its philosophy is bent...."
In May 1994, one of the most complex, unique and significant voices in the Israeli culture fell silent. The poet, artist, choreographer and critic Hezi Leskly died of AIDs at the age of 42. To yers later, a film crew followed in the wake of the words he left behind, to the cities in which he lived - to meet the people that in their lives he caused drama.
Yakantalisa - a cinematic portrait of a dead poet. Leskly knew that life and art demand their pound of flesh and as a total artist who blurred the boundaries between the two, he paid dearly.
