Hardy makes a living selling knickknacks on the buses of Santiago. But in 2005 a government announcement starts to trouble him: Chile will soon have a modern and elegant public transportation system, in which Hardy's type of work will no longer be tolerated. So heĀ gathers two thousand of his colleagues and together they struggle to survive modernity.
They manage to have their case heard by congressmen and authorities, but their petitions; do not achieve any real changes. In 2007 Transatiago arrives. And while Chile fails to change its precarious image, Hardy learns that modernity is not so much about changing reality as about changing its promotional image.
